Cleon G. “Buck” Yaw, 64, of Williamsport, died Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at The Gatehouse at Divine Providence Hospital.
Born September 30, 1947 in Williamsport, he was a son of Cleon J. and Jean (Mitcheltree) Yaw.
He was a 1966 graduate of Williamsport High School and an U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He retired from Textron-Lycoming in 2009.
Buck enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, fishing, hunting, playing horseshoes, and making wine and beef jerky.
He was a member of American Legion Post 1, V.F.W. 844, S.O.L. 40&8, and the Moose Lodge, Muncy .
He was preceded in death by his wife Doris (Newcomer) Yaw in 2003, and a brother Kim Yaw in 2010.
Surviving are five children: Alan Huff (Charlene), Harry Fowler (Pam), Helen Fowler (Christopher), Linda Toti (Jim), and Connie Yaw (Chuck), all of Williamsport, 16 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and two brothers, Charles and James Yaw of Montoursville.
Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. Monday at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St. Williamsport, followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Korean War Veterans of Lycoming County.
