(September 4, 1932 - December 31, 2011)

Dorothy E. Norton Dorothy E. Norton, 79, of 350 Forrest St., South Williamsport, went home to her Lord on Dec. 31, 2011.

She was born on Sept. 4, 1932, in Williamsport, a daughter of the late Eugene J. Eck Sr. and Magdalena Eck. She was the loving wife of Robert L. Norton, with whom she would have celebrated 49 years of marriage this Jan. 26.

She was a lifelong member of St. Boniface Roman Catholic Church. Dorothy was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She was a 1950 graduate of St. Mary's Catholic High School in Williamsport.

She retired in 2000 from McNerney Page Vanderlin & Hall after an association that spanned 50 years of work and friendship.

Surviving in addition to her husband, Robert, are four daughters, Karen Miller of Williamsport, Roberta (Brian) Reitz of Sigel, Sandy (Tim) Butters of Proctor and Jeanne (James) Kerschner of Hughesville; and a son, Kenneth of South Williamsport; two sisters, Magdalene Morton of Montgomery, Ala. and Evelyn (Joseph) Eiswerth of Williamsport; and three brothers, Eugene (Arlene) Eck of South Williamsport, Paul (Dorothy) Eck of Pen Argyl and Joseph (Mary) Eck of Williamsport; sister-in-law, Kay Edwards of Ava, N.Y.; and seven grandchildren, Jeremy and Samantha Miller, Zachary and Eric Reitz, Caleb Butters, and James and Aiden Kerschner.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a sister and brother-in-law, Catherine and Norbert Bower, and brothers-in-law, Herbert Morton and Howard Edwards.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 4, at St. Boniface Roman Catholic Church, 320 Washington Blvd. Officiating will be her pastor Monsignor Stephen McGough. Burial will follow at St. Boniface Cemetery. Family and loving friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 3, at the Crouse Funeral Home, 133 E. Third St., Williamsport.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, or the Susquehanna Health Foundation for the benefit of Kathryn Candor Lundy Breast Center, 1001 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport.
