Paul E. Kisner, 80, of 327 W. Penn St., Muncy, went home to be with his Lord and Savior surrounded by his family on Sunday, January 1, 2012.
Born June 8, 1931 on a farm in Mt. Pleasant Twp., Columbia County, he was a son of the late Frank and Rachel (Neufer) Kisner. On April 23, 1985, he married the former Eleanor J. Simpson, with whom he shared 26 years.
A graduate of Bloomsburg High School, Paul farmed until 1965 when he went to work for Sprout-Waldron, now Andritz, in Muncy. He retired in 1993 after 28 years.
Paul was a member of New Covenant Assembly of God in Montgomery, and loved the Lord with all his heart. He enjoyed helping others by giving of his time and talents. One of his talents involved wood-working, and he crafted thousands of crosses and walking sticks which were donated to the Christian Farmer's Association to be distributed at area fairs and the PA Farm Show in order to spread the good news of the Lord. Paul was also a member of the Christian Farmer's Association and the Bloomsburg Fair Association.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Eleanor, are three daughters, Lori (Joe) Lepore of Williamsport, Tammy Peterson of Montgomery, and Sharon Miller of West Virginia; six grandchildren, Steven Lepore, Alexander Lepore, Colton Peterson, Lyndsie Peterson, Robert Smith and Amanda Verducci; and one great-granddaughter, Ariaunna Verducci.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by one son, Danny Kisner; one daughter, Brenda Munroe; and one grandson, Jonathan.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 4, at New Covenant Assembly of God, 1270 Pinchtown Road, Montgomery. Officiating will be his pastor, Rev. James Pentz. Burial will be held at 3 p.m. at Camby Lutheran Cemetery, Orangeville.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Grenoble's, 121 S. Main St., Muncy.
