Norman F. Heincelman, 86, of 134 New St., Muncy, died Sunday, Dec. 25, 2011 at home.
Born April 29, 1925, in Aberdeen, Michigan, he was a son of the late Nelson Heincelman and Catherine (Feigles) Heincelman Kilgus. On April 28, 1945 he married the former Dorothy E. Corson, who preceded him in death on August 6, 2006, after 61 years of marriage.
A 1943 graduate of Muncy High School, he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He retired from Koppers in 1986 after 40 years of employment, where he worked as a foreman in the pattern shop.
Norm was a member of St. Andrew Evangelical Lutheran Church, Muncy, the Muncy Masonic Lodge 299, F&AM, and the Williamsport Consistory. In addition, he initiated Cub Scouts in Muncy, where he was the first Cub Master of the Muncy Pack. Norm served as past president and league manager for Muncy Little League, and volunteered at Son-Light House. In his spare time he also enjoyed wood working and spending time with his family.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, N. Edward and Jeanne Heincelman of Derwood, Maryland; one daughter and son-in-law, Terre H. and John Belt of Davidsonville, Maryland; one sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Harold Rupert of Muncy; two grandchildren, Eryn Lowe and husband, Thomas, of Churchton, Maryland and Dr. Marc Heincelman of Charleston, SC; and two great-grandchildren, Rylee Lowe and Thomas Lowe, Jr.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by two granddaughters, Cortney Belt, who died in 1996 and Traci Heincelman, who died in 2002; and two brothers, Nelson and Donald Heincelman.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 29, at his church, 201 S. Main St., Muncy, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Officiating will be his pastor, Rev. Dr. Donald P. Edwards. Burial will follow in Muncy Cemetery.
The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to Son-Light House, 130 Carpenter St., Muncy, PA 17756.
