Emma Mae Watson Schell, 95, formerly of 410 S. Washington St., Muncy, entered Heaven Sunday, December 18, 2011 at the Muncy Valley Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit, where she had resided for the past nine years.

Born August 28, 1916 in Turbotville, she was a daughter of the late Thomas J. and Emma N. (Yerg) Watson. She and her husband, Harry J. Schell, were married 33 years until his passing in 1971.

Emma attended the Five Points School, Turbotville. She worked at the Muncy Valley Hospital for 20 years before retiring. After retirement she returned to Muncy Valley Hospital working part-time for 10 more years.

Her favorite pastimes included watching football games and spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are one daughter, Nancy Derrick of Muncy; three grandsons, Steven Derrick of Muncy, Scott and his wife Lisa Derrick of Sunbury and H. Michael Derrick of Muncy; three great-granddaughters, Courtney and her husband Steve Richard of Quantico, VA, Taylor and Kelsey Derrick both of Sunbury; one loving and faithful sister-in-law, Viola Watson of Muncy; two nephews, Larry and his wife Phyllis Watson of Appalacian, NY and Jerry Watson of Muncy; and one niece, Shirley Watson of Muncy.

In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by three brothers, Albert “Abe” Yerg, Carroll “Spec” Yerg and Chester Watson.

Friends will be received from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 21, at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, where the funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Officiating will be Sister Sharon Hartman, chaplain at Muncy Valley Hospital. Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests contributions be made to a charity of one’s choice.
