Ralph Atwood Cox, 95, of Williamsport, died Sunday, December 4, 2011 at Manor Care North.
Born February 8, 1916 in Millville, he was a son of the late Vernon and Bertha Cornelison Cox.
Ralph and his wife, the former Marjorie M. Hort were married June 22, 1963.
Ralph was an army veteran of World War II, and was a lifetime member of the Danville American Legion 0040, and the Turbotville VFW 8206. He was a former member of the Danville Moose and he also loved work in the garden.
He was employed by Merck & Co. Pharmaceutical Plant for 30 years, and was an honorary life member in the Oil, Chemical & Atomic Workers International Union.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a granddaughter, Drena (Brian) Bennett of Montrose, CO, a nephew, Ken (Ann) Dunkleberger of Williamsport and two nieces, Glady Vaughn of Williamsport and Eileen (C. Glen) Lewis of Hughesville.
He was preceded in death by a son, Terrence in 1978, a grandson Kevin, 5 brothers and 5 sisters.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond Street Williamsport. A viewing will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
Interment will be in Northumberland Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1948 East Third Street, Williamsport, PA 17701.
