Evelyn M. Fithian

(September 24, 1919 - November 25, 2011)

Evelyn M. Fithian, 92, of Hughesville, died Friday, November 25, 2011, at the Muncy Valley Hospital.

Born September 24, 1919, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Charles F. and Mayme O. Poust McClain. Her husband of 54 years, John William Fithian, preceded her in death on February 15, 2001.

Evelyn graduated from Picture Rocks High School, Class of 1937 and Goodwins School of Business, Williamsport. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Hughesville and the East Lycoming Historical Society.

Evelyn was a very independent person who loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, collecting antiques and had a special interest in dolls.

Surviving are many nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Evelyn was preceded in death by two brothers, F. William McClain and James H. McClain; and two sisters, Pearl M. Diggin and Betty M. Springman.

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
