Catherine L. Wertz, 87, of Montgomery, PA, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 in the Muncy Valley Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit.

Born in Gregg Twp., Union County, PA, on Sunday, June 29, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Howard H. and Elizabeth (Huff) Kahle.

She was the widow of Robert R. Wertz who preceded her in death on April 20, 2000.

Catherine was employed as a warper by the former Montgomery Mills and had also been employed at the former Bobbi Brooks at Montgomery.

She was a member of the St. John Lutheran "Brick" Church at Montgomery, PA. Cate enjoyed reading and word find puzzles.

Catherine is survived by one son, Terry L. Wertz, Montgomery, PA and one brother, Chester Kahle, South Williamsport, PA. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by 4 brothers: Elmer Kahle, John Kahle, Charles Kahle and Fred Kahle and by three sisters, Estella Warren, Pearl Haines and Erma Gair.

Funeral services will be conducted from the St. John Lutheran "Brick" Church, 196 Brick Church Road, Montgomery, PA at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 19, 2011 with Reverend Martha Sue Moll, her pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the St. John Lutheran "Brick" Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday from 12 - 1 p.m. at the church. The family will provide the flowers.
