Welty, Carol Ann

Carol Ann Welty, 69, of Montoursville, went to be with our Lord Monday, Nov. 14,   2011.

Born Nov. 14, 1942, in Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late John Alden Sharar and Leah Carolyn Remsnyder.

She married Lynn R. Welty on Nov. 26, 1963, and celebrated 41 years of marriage before his death in 2005.

Carol graduated from Williamsport Area High School in 1962. She was a homemaker and loving mother of two children. She enjoyed attending to her flowers, and especially took pride in her roses. Carol loved cooking, loved children and baby sat for over 50 years. She always thought of others before herself and loved helping and doing things for them. Her most important thing in life was her family, especially her granddaughter, Leah. Leah meant the world to her along with her two children.

She is survived by her son, Brett Welty and his wife, Jamie, of Montoursville; her daughter, Brooke Welty and her husband, Tristan Hoare of Williamsport; a sister, Jane (Bill) Laffin of Erie; and a brother, John (Kaye) Sharar of Williamsport; a loving granddaughter, Leah Grace Welty of Montoursville; and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephew and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Following Carol’s wishes there will be a graveside service on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Montoursville Cemetery with Pastor Michael Swimley officiating.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St., Williamsport.
