Thomas S. Taylor

(January 29, 1935 - October 30, 2011)

Thomas S. Taylor, 76, of Old Road, Montgomery, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2011 at Evangelical Community Hospital where he was a medical patient.

Born January 29, 1935 near Middleburg, he was the son of the late Boyd and Inez (Steele) Taylor.

He was married to the former RuthAnn Rovenolt for 45 years until her death October 6, 2001. On October 18, 2008 he married the former Mary M. Bower and they just celebrated 3 years of marriage.

Tom was raised on a farm and farmed most of his life. He worked for Professional Drivers for many years, earlier as a driver and later as a dispatcher until retirement.

He enjoyed bowling with the Trinity U.C.C. league from Turbotville and hunting earlier in life. More recently his pastimes were woodworking and traveling with family in his motor home. He was a devoted grandfather and treasured times with all his grandchildren.

Surviving besides his wife are two sons and a daughter-in-law: Thomas A. Taylor of New Columbia and Daniel B. and LouAnn Taylor, Montgomery; three step-daughters: Ladon (Tom) Weaver, New Columbia; Vickie (Rod) Keiser, Allenwood; Jill (Jimmy) Phlegar, Williamsport; seven grandchildren: Nichole, Robert, Megan, Daniel, Michael, Stacy, and Leslie; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Emma Snyder, CA; and two brothers, John R. and David R. Taylor, both of Montgomery.

Preceding him in death besides his wife were two brothers, Ray and Keller Taylor and two sisters, Helen Fritz and Florence Raup.

Friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Brooks Funeral Home, 207 Broadway Street, Turbotville where the funeral will be held Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Michael Deal of White Deer Valley Baptist Church, Allenwood officiating. Burial will follow in Presbyterian Cemetery, McEwensville.
