Julia O. "Dolly" Rinier

Julia O. “Dolly” Rinier, 89, of Sonestown, died Sunday, October 30, 2011, at her home.

Born June 24, 1922, in Sonestown, she was a daughter of the late Leon and Tressa Gansel Boatman. Her husband of 62 years, Joseph F. Rinier, preceded her in death on February 23, 2004.

Dolly retired from GTE Sylvania, after having worked there for over 30 years. She was a member of the Quarter Century Club and the Valley United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the church choir for many years.

Surviving are a son, James L. (Cynthia) Rinier of Muncy Valley; a daughter, Mary T. (Doug) Houseknecht of Muncy Valley; two grandchildren, Kent J. Houseknecht and Melanie A. Faus; and two great-grandchildren, Ashley M. Faus and Parker K. Houseknecht.

In addition to her parents and husband, Dolly was preceded in death by a son, Joseph T. Rinier; a brother, Carl Boatman; and a sister, Thelma Ferrell.

A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family.

The family will provide the flowers and suggest memorial contributions to the Valley United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 185, Muncy Valley, PA 17758.
