Ronald C. Summers

Ronald C. Summers, 62, of Picture Rocks, died Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at the Gatehouse.

Born September 1, 1949, in Muncy, he was a son of the late John L. and Martha G. Puderbaugh Summers. He and his wife, the former Barbara A. Allen, celebrated 25 years of marriage on April 11, 2011.

Ronald was a Vietnam War veteran who served honorably in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion Post 35, Hughesville. He was a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed fishing, cutting firewood and spending time with his family.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three sons, Ronald A. (Kristine) Summers of Millville, Allen R. Summers of Muncy and Richard L. (Annette) Summers of Muncy; a step-son, Christopher W. Summers of Picture Rocks; three step-daughters, Annette M. (Timothy F.) Little of Muncy, Michele D. (Charles Trimble) Fox of Trout Run and Yvonne C. Tucker of Picture Rocks; four brothers, Wayne Summers of Hughesville, Herman (Diane) Summers of Montgomery, Lewis (Barbara J.) Summers of Muncy, and Luther Summers of Picture Rocks; two sisters, Francis Swisher of Unityville and Sarah Metzger of Muncy; a mother-in-law, Marie E. Allen of Muncy; 17 grandchildren; and 13 great- grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, at the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, with Rev. James A. Savage officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery with graveside military honors accorded by combined veterans organizations. Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Due to the recent flooding, access to the funeral home will be made by turning onto North Fifth Street and making an immediate right onto Hunsinger Alley at the rear of the funeral home.
