Geraldine Toots Haines

Geraldine B. “Toots” Haines, 77, of R and S Lane, Watsontown, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2011 at Kramm Health and Rehabilitation Center, Watsontown where she had been residing the past several months.

Born September 11, 1934 in Delaware Twp., Northumberland Co., she was the daughter of the late Norman P. and Mary Ellen (Bachman) Beck.

On June 20, 1958 she married William R. Haines, Jr. and they celebrated 52 years of marriage until his death March 7, 2011.

A 1952 graduate of Watsontown High School, she had worked at Philco-Ford/Zenith, Watsontown, Montgomery Mills, and later retired from Kramm’s, Watsontown.

She enjoyed shopping trips with her family or friends and loved visiting Disney World, but most precious were the times she spent with her grandchildren.

She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Watsontown.

Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law: Mary E. Mingle, Watsontown and Susan L. and Todd Eichenlaub, Montoursville; three grandchildren: Katherine E. Mingle, Michael Wynn, and Rachel Eichenlaub; two brothers: John (Jean Pfleegor) Beck and Max and Audrey Beck, and a sister, Nancy (Richard) Kilgus, all of Watsontown.

Preceding her in death besides her husband were two brothers, Charles and Elmer Beck and four sisters: Hazel Willett, Ruth Dentler, Jane Zarr, and Helen Byers.

Private services will be held later at the convenience of the family.

The family suggests contributions in her memory may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, 6590 Musser Lane, Watsontown, PA 17777.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brooks Funeral Home, Watsontown.
