Eleanor L. Walter
(July 24, 1920 - August 13, 2011)
Eleanor L. Walter, 91, of Ottawa Rd., Turbotville, passed away Saturday, August 13, at the Valley View Nursing Center, Montoursville.
Born July 24, 1920 at Watsontown R.D., she was the daughter of the late J. Albert and Helena M. (Shupp) Neyhard. She was married to Frank A. Walter for 58 years until his death May 25, 2004.
Mrs. Walter was a homemaker and a 1937 graduate of Turbotville High School.
She was a faithful member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Turbotville and active with the WELCA and Jolly Bunch at the church. She was a charter member and past president of the Ladies Auxillary Muffley Huff Post 8206, charter member of the Montgomery House Library, McEwensville and enjoyed music, painting, baking, sewing and many crafts.
Surviving are a son, Stanley A. Walter, Turbotville; a daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn J. (Howard E.) Lee, Greenville, NC; a brother, Donald L. Neyhard, Hershey; a brother-in-law, Clair W. Keefer, South Williamsport; sister-in-laws, Helen R. Neyhard, Milton and Mary Neyhard, Hillsboro, TX and a grandson, Matthew H. Lee, Raleigh, NC.
Preceding her in death besides her husband were brothers, Carroll C. Neyhard (1990), Kenneth A. Neyhard (2004) and W. Milford Neyhard (2009) and sisters, Dorathy L. Mihalyco (1999) and Joy M. Keefer (2011).
Friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at Brooks Funeral Home, 207 Broadway Street, Turbotville and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 39 Paradise Street, Turbotville.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Erwin C. Roux, officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park.
