Carol E. Nunn, 63, of 1037 Leiser Road, New Columbia, died Monday, July 18, 2011 at her home.

Born December 7, 1947 in Lewisburg, she was the daughter of the late Charles E. “Buck”  and Mary J. (Rose) Scheesley.

On July 3, 1971 she married David W. Nunn. They recently celebrated 40 years of marriage.

A 1965 graduate of Warrior Run High School she attended the Williamsport School of Commerce for two years.

Carol volunteered as a Girl Scout leader and a 4-H leader, where she also served on the advisory committee and was involved with the 4-H displays in the Family Living section at the PA State Farm Show.

Carol attended the Dewart livestock market where she worked in the cafeteria. She enjoyed judging crafts and clothing at local fairs, and spent some of her spare time on quilting and sewing projects.

Surviving in addition to her husband are a son and fiancée, Jeremy T. Nunn and Michele Fredericks of White Deer; a daughter and son-in-law, Jolene T. and Jason Furl of Gambrills, MD; a brother and sister-in-law, Richard L. and Elizabeth Scheesley of Lock Haven; and three grandchildren, Ryan A., Mason A. and Adelyn C. Furl, all of Gambrills, MD.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 21 and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, July 22, at Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 308 Main St., Watsontown, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday.

Officiating will be Rev. Robert Lauver, pastor of New Life Church, Pennsdale.

Burial will follow in the Watsontown Cemetery.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association, P. O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
