Robert J. April, 90, of 1445 Sycamore Road Montoursville, died February 1, 2011 at the Sycamore Manor Health Center Montousville.
He was born in Williamsport on April 20, 1920, the son of Joseph and Caroline Straley April.
He was a member of St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church and had been employed by the Hall’s Motor Transit Co. in Williamsport.
Robert was a graduate of the former St. Mary’s High School. He was a WWII Navy Veteran stationed in Hawaii.
He is survived by his daughter Bonnie(Larry) Wileman of Williamsport and a cousin Sally Ann Shilling Wilhelm.
He was preceded in death by his wife Betty in 1997, a daughter Sherry Lane,two sisters Dorothy Karschner and Anna O’Connell.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held in St Ann’s Church 1220 Northway Road on Monday February 7, 2011. Burial was in St. Boniface Cemetery and memorial contributions may be made to Sycamore Manor Health Center 1445 Sycamore Road Montoursville,Pa. 17754.
The family would like to thank the staff at Sycamore Manor especially Cathy, Seal, Jenny and Nancy Patchin the hospice nurse, Dr Lee Ciccarelli and former employees of Sycamore Manor Kim, Sue, and Terry for all their loving care given to Robert during his stay.
