John W. Menne

U.S. Veteran John W. Menne, 68, of 539 Route 973 East, Cogan Station, died, Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family.

John and his wife, the former Shirley F. Hester, observed their 46th wedding anniversary on January 16, 2010.

John was a member of the Hepburn Baptist Church and an Army veteran. He retired from Textron after 39 years of service.

John enjoyed doing yard work and gardening around his house, watching football and spending time with his wife and family.

Born November 1, 1941 in Williamsport, he was the son of John C. and Evelyn Mae Wright Menne.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Kim Y. (Andy Kendall) Menne of Williamsport; grandchildren, Alicia Menne and Nicholas Kendall; step grandchildren, Andrew and Joshua Kendall; great grandchildren, Preston Bacon and McKenzie Kendall.

John was predeceased by a brother, William K. Menne.

Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday, August 28, 2010 at the church, 2917 Pleasant Valley Road, Cogan Station, with the Rev. Joseph M. Schreck officiating. No visitation. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Stoltz Cemetery.

The family will provide the flowers and suggests contributions may be made to the church.
