Michael “Mike” Joseph Baidy, age 43, of Lititz, PA, passed away at his home on Friday, July 17, 2009 unexpectedly of natural causes. He was the son of Joseph and Judith Baidy of Lititz.
Mike graduated from Fox Chapel High School, Pittsburgh, PA in 1984 and Electronic Technical Institute, Cleveland, Ohio, with a degree in computer technology, in 1987.
Mike loved family, friends, fishing, gardening, collecting, photography, computers and music. He especially enjoyed communicating with internet friends around the world. He had an amazing affinity with animals and especially admired the American eagle. His nickname to all who knew him was “Golden Eagle.” He worked hand in hand with his father to train border collies for humane geese control. He was a man of many talents, a big and gentle giant. Mike was a friend and protector of all those who needed protection, understanding and a helping hand.
Mike loved being outdoors so his career led him to a lifetime career on the golf course. He was on the grounds staff at Bent Creek Country Club.
He was a member of the Roman Catholic faith attending St. John Neumann Church, Lancaster, PA
In addition to his parents he is survived by his sister, Michelle M. Baidy, Lancaster, PA. Michael had a very special association with Shawn and Susan Gaffney and daughter Samantha, Clinton, NY. Great Aunts Ruth and Lillian Letteer, Williamsport, PA Anna Long, Moscow, PA Alberta Nowicki, Lafayette, NJ Uncles and Aunts Francis (Jean) Baidy, Scotia, NY Paul (Patty) Baidy, Schenectady, NY Stephen Baidy, Pennsville, NJ Robert (Brenda) Baidy, Alexandria, LA Charles (Margaret) Letteer, Lancaster, PA Nancy Keener, Montoursville, PA Betty (Larry) Purcel, Manheim, PA Butch (Janet) Letteer, Richmond, VA.
Surviving also are many cousins, and great cousins. Predeceased by his grandparents, Stephen and Agnes Baidy and Charles and Eunice Letteer all of Williamsport.
Friends may call at the Crouse Funeral Home 133 E 3rd St. Williamsport on Thursday morning from 8:30 to 9:30 AM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Church of the Annunciation 702 West Fourth Street Williamsport, on Thursday morning at 10 A.M. The pastor .Rev Shane L. Kirby will officiate
