Obit: Mark E. Young

Mark E. Young, went home to be with the Lord on April 16, 2017. He passed away peacefully at home while in the presence of his loving family.

Mark was born in Williamsport, on March 8, 1961. His parents Roland and Patricia Beiter Young preceded him in death.

Surviving are his wife of 22 years, the former Jacqueline Harner; daughter, Dana Lewis (Adam); grandchildren, Hannah, Talia and Giada Lewis; brother, Scott Young; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Mark was a 1979 graduate of Loyalsock Township High School. He was employed at High Steel his entire career, approximately 37 years.

Mark and his wife Jackie also owned and operated the "Humpty Dumpty" sub shop on Lycoming Creek Road for the past 21 years.

As an outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Mark was a member of the Beech Ridge Hunting Club for 29 years, Lycoming County Beagle Club and Red Run Rod & Gun Club. He was also a life member of the Keystone League. Mark enjoyed, fishing trips with family and friends, especially walleye fishing in Port Clinton, Ohio, and camping on the Delaware beaches with family and good friends. He was an avid fan and supporter of Penn State’s football and girls’ soccer teams. Most of all, Mark enjoyed spending time with family, especially watching his grandkids play soccer.

The family will receive family and friends at the Crouse Funeral Home, 133 E. Third St., Williamsport, on Saturday April 22 from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., followed by a service celebrating Mark’s life.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to either the Geisinger Foundation at (select Cancer GMC) or to the Williamsport Soccer Booster Club (checks payable to WAHS Soccer Booster and sent to Brette Confair), 607 Orchard Place, Willliamsport, PA 17701, as a tribute gift to honor Mark.
