Obit: Karen L. Clayton

Karen L. Clayton, 56, a resident of Watsontown, PA, passed away after many years of kidney disease and other health issues on Saturday, April 15, 2017 in the Geisinger Medical Center. Born in Kelly Twp., Union County, PA, on Tuesday, June 14, 1960, she was the daughter of the late Robert A. Bitler, Sr. and Lucinda Shreck who survives her of Montgomery.

She was the wife of Thomas E. Clayton.

Karen was a 1998 graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Technology. Due to her long time illness, Karen was a stay at home mom.

Karen was a member of the New Covenant Assembly at Montgomery. She was a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Edward J. Smith F.V.W. Post 3428 at Muncy. She enjoyed spending time with her family, attending yard sales, watching western movies and reading her Bible. Her faith in the Lord never wavered.

In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by one daughter, Angela M. and husband Dennis Buck, Watsontown, PA; one grandson, Kyle E. Buck, Watsontown, PA; her step-father, Charles Shreck, Montgomery, PA; five siblings, Kathy A. and husband David Nevel, Hughesville, PA; Robert A. Bitler, Jr., Montgomery, PA; Marge S. and husband James Poust, Muncy, PA; Penny Benscoter and fiancé Will J. Zink, Muncy, PA; Dale L. Bitler and fiancé Danielle Gordner, Watsontown, PA. Karen is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted from the Galen R. Betzer Funeral Service, 108 North Main Street, Muncy, PA at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 with Reverend James R. Pentz, her pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the St. John Lutheran "Brick" Cemetery, Clinton Twp., Lycoming County, PA. Friends may call on Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
