Two killed in truck and train collision
Two men were killed after a a pick-up truck collided with a Norfolk Southern Locomotive at 12:26 p.m. Aug. 15.
According to state police, One of the men in the truck was pronouced dead at the scene. The other was taken to Geisinger Medical Center where he died from traumatic injuries sustained during the crash. Both men were from out of state. Police are witholding their identities until family can be notified.
At the time of the crash, the truck was traveling east on Brick Church Road in Clinton Township, where it crossed into the path of the train. Impact occurred on the driver's side area of the truck and caused disabling damage.
Police are still investigating the crash and will release more details as they unfold.

Darren Ziemer, 46 years of age from Bayard, Nebraska was the passenger in the pickup that was struck by the Norfolk Southern Train at the Railroad crossing on Red Brick Church Rd. in Clinton Twp. Mr. Ziemer was pronounced dead at the scene and the driver Howard Martin, Jr., 49 years of age was transported Life Flight to Geisinger Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 1:55 PM. The crash remains under investigation by PA State Police and Norfolk Southern Police. Both occupants died of multiple blunt force trauma.
