Three injured in 2-vehicle crash
State police reported three injured after a crash at 10:10 a.m. July 2 on Blockhouse Road in Jackson Township.
According to police, a vehicle driven by Melvin Walters, 67, of Hughesville, was traveling diagonally across the northbound lane of Blockhouse road and swerved left directly in front of a vehicle driven by Travis Chapin, 43, of Blossburg.
Walters and Chapin were both reportedly wearing seat belts and sustained minor injuries. Mary Chapin, 52, of Blossburg, a passenger in Chapin's vehicle, was not wearing a seat belt and sustained moderate injuries. All three were transported to Williamsport Hospital.
State police Montoursville also reported the following incidents:
1:49 a.m. May 3, Police reported that Carl Freeman Moyer Jr., 57, of Muncy, was stopped for summary traffic violations on Broad Street near Sunoco and was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol.
2:47 a.m. May 24, Police responded to a vehicle crash on the 600 Block of Beaver Lake Road in Penn Township and found Gregory Taggart, of Hughesville, had been driving under the influence of alcohol.
2:05 a.m. June 6, Police reported that a summary traffic stop was conducted on Justin David Gardner, of Muncy, on I-180 near exit 23. Gardner was found to be under the influence of alcohol.
1:12 a.m. June 7, Police reported that Jimmy Harsch, 64, of Linden was stopped for speeding. Further investigation revealed Harsch to be driving under the influence of alcohol.
June 10 to July 21, Police reported that an incident occurred as an unknown actor entered a residence belonging to James Robert Hill Sr., 50, of Jersey Shore, and took cash and firearms. Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact PSP Montoursville at 570-368-5700.
6:10 p.m. June 24, Police reported that Dale Blackwell, 41, of Montoursville, drove of the roadway in the area of 1055 Cemetery Road and struck a utility pole. He left the scene and returned home to call police and report the accident. Further investigation revealed Blackwell was driving while under the influence of alcohol.
July 1 to July 21, Police reported that an unknown actor arrived at the 200 block of Campfire Lane undetected and stole a registration plate attached to a boat trailer belonging to Derrick A. 5:55 a.m. July 4, Police reported that Glenn Miller, 53, of Jersey Mills, crashed his vehicle on Route 287 and displayed signs of intoxication. DUI charges have been filed.
July 5 to July 6, Police reported that Douglas Hoffman Jr., 25, stole a PlayS\ation 3 gaming console and video games from Robert Dunlap, 34, of Hughesville and traded the video games in for cash.
10:45 p.m. July 5, Police reported that that Joseph Bischof, 69, of Montoursvile was stopped for a traffic violation on E. Third St. near Dunkin Donuts. Further investigation revealed that Bischof was driving under the influence of alcohol.
July 12 to July 20, Police reported that an actor stole batteries that wre attached to campers at Antlers Lane River Lot. Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact PSP Montoursville at 570-368-5700.
4:45 p.m. July 15, Police reported that a crash occurred as a vehicle driven by Caroline Kovach, 80, of Montgomery, failed to observe a stop sign at Washington Boulevard and impacted a vehicle driven by Michael Culp, 43, of Williamsport.
10:30 to 11:30 p.m. July 17, Police reported that an unknown actor stole a Mongoose bike belonging to Joseph Hines, 55, of Williamsport, at Kmart, 1915 E. Third St. Anyone with information pertaining to this investigation should contact PSP Montoursville at 570-368-5700.
1:30 p.m. July 21, Police reported that a crash occurred as a vehicle driven by Jeffrey Charles, 56, of Muncy, was traveling south on Fogelman Road turning east onto Kepner Road when it turned into the west lane of travel, striking a vehicle driven by Lawrence Pauly III, 38, of Minersville.
2:45 p.m. July 22, Police reported that a white female in her 20s driving a black Honda Pilot paid for $10.00 worth of gas at McConnel's Store in Cummings Township but actually pumped $30.92. The vehicle fled south on Route 44.
