Police report various incidents

Pennsylvania State Police Department Montoursville reported the following incidents:

4:30 p.m. April 15, Police reported that Travis Caverly, 23, took a stereo belonging to the victim and sold it for $30. Caverly is an admitted drug user and admitted to taking and pawning the stereo. Charges have been filed. 

7:40 p.m. April 18, Police reported that a suspect entered a vehicle belonging to Kenneth Armes, 75, of Picture Rocks. Armes pulled the suspect out of the vehicle. The suspect then fled the scene. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact PSP Montoursville at 570-368-5700.

6:35 p.m. April 23, Police reported that a crash occurred when a vehicle driven by Daniel Kopey, 29, of Williamsport, was traveling south on Northway Road. A vehicle driven by Stanley Schall, 46, of Williamsport, was stopped in traffic on Northway Road at Shiffler Avenue. Kopey's vehicle failed to stop and struck Schall's vehicle in the rear bumper. 

9:20 p.m. April 30, Police reported that a verbal argument ensued between Donald Smithers, 42, and Joseph Hornung, 33, both of Williamsport. During the argument, Smithers grabbed Hornung and pushed him. Summary harassment charges have been filed. 

April 30 to May 1, Police reported that an unknown actor opened the unlocked doors to three vehicles belonging to Amy Johle, 27, of Wililamsport, Kerry Shand, 36, of Williamsport, and Bryan Ross, 38, of Williamsport and removed change. The actor then entered an unlocked detached garage at the residence of Danielle Witmer, 43, of Williamsport, and proceeded to enter her car and remove $10 in change. The actor then fled in an unknown direction. Anyone with information pertaining to this investigation is encouraged to contact PSP Montoursville at 570-368-5700. 

3:57 p.m. May 1, Police reported that a crash occurred as a vehicle driven by Thomas Ertel, 26, of Williamsport, was traveling east on Northway Road Ext. The vehicle was negotiating a left hand curve and drifted off the right hand side of the roadway and came back and traveled across the west bound lanes. The vehicle struck an embankment on the left hand side of the roadway and rolled over onto its roof. 

8:24 a.m. May 2, Police reported that a crash occurred as a vehicle driven by Donald Thatcher, 79, of Plumsteadville, was attempting to make a left hand turn into the Giant Plaza and pulled into the path of a vehicle driven by Brittany Spitler, 32, of Montoursville. Spitler's vehicle hit the front passenger side of Thatcher's vehicle.
