Police report various incidents
Pennsylvania State Police Department Montoursville reported the following incidents:
Feb. 22 to Feb. 26, Police reported that Mandy Carstetter, 27, of Jersey Shore, passed 5 bad checks at Speedy's Inc. in Mifflin Township and was arrested.
10 a.m. Mar. 1, Police reported that Loyalsock EMS responded to reports of an unresponsive female lying outside of her vehicle in the TJ Maxx parking lot on E. Third St. Sierra Hockenberry, 20, of Bellefonte, was medically evaluated and police found evidence of heroin and drug paraphernalia laying on the center console of the vehicle. Hockenberry was then transported via ambulance to the Wiliamsport Hospital where she was treated for heroin overdose. Charges have been filed.
9:12 p.m. Mar. 1, Police reported that a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle driven by Colton Snyder, 18, of Rome, for a speeding violation. Police detected the odor of marijuana on Snyder. After being questioned, Snyder admitted he had smoked marijuana prior to driving and that he had marijuana inside his vehicle. Misdemeanor drug and DUI charges along with multiple traffic violations have been filed.
2:11 a.m. Mar. 12, Police reported that a syringe and metal piper were found on James Clarke, 24, of Bloomsburg, after being taken into custody for an active warrant.
1:30 p.m. Mar. 12, Police reported that a crash occurred as a vehicle driven by Sarah Stuart, 49, of Cogan Station, was traveling south on State Route 973, approaching a left curve onto the bridge over Larry's Creek. Stuart's vehicle traveled off the west side of the roadway and struck the north side of the east concrete parapet bridge rail. Stuart sustained major injuries and was transported by EMS to the Williamsport Hospital.
3 a.m. Mar. 16, Police reported that Tessa Raup, 25, struck a 33-year-old woman in the face with a closed fist after a verbal altercation. Raup grabbed the woman by the neck. Raup was charged with harassment.
10:38 a.m. Mar. 16, Police reported that a crash occurred as a vehicle driven by Jeremy Benfer, 31, of Muncy, was traveling west on Musser Lane when the vehicle crossed the double yellow line and traveled across the east bound lane. The vehicle continued across the south fog line of Musser Lane and struck the bank of a ditch south of the roadway.
Mar. 16 to Mar. 18, Police reported than an unknown actor damaged a vehicle belonging to Tina King, 47, of Jersey Shore, by scratching the paint. The investigation is ongoing at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact PSP Montoursville at 570-368-5700.
11 p.m. Mar. 17, Police reported that two unknown actors arrived at the Suplus Outlet in Montgomery and pulled down the handles on three breaker boxes on the exterior of the bulding, cutting off the power to the freezers inside the building. The actors then forced open an enclosed metal panel box containing high voltage wires, but did not tamper with the wires. The actors fled the scene in an unknown direction.
4:05 p.m. Mar. 19, Police reported that a crash occurred as a vehicle driven by David Faust, 48, of Linden, was traveling south onto Lycoming Creek Road from Log Run Road while another vehicle driven by Tracy Richards, 42, of Cogan Station, was traveling north in the left lane of Lycoming Creek Road. Faust's vehicle struck Richards's vehicle in the intersection.
Mar. 19 to Mar. 20, Police reported that an unknown actor damaged the front driver's side window of a vehicle belonging to PennDot by unknown means.
12:06 a.m. Mar. 20, Police reported that an unknown actor struck a glass storm door at the residence of Leanne Applegate, 30, of Williamsport, shattering a portion of the glass. Anyone with information is asked to contact PSP Montoursville at 570-368-5700.
11 a.m. Mar. 20, Police reported that a crash occurred as a vehicle driven by Rita Crawley, 88, of Montoursville, was traveling north out of a parking lot, attempting to cross John Brady Drive at its intersection with Star Lite Drive. A vehicle driven by Trisha Long, 33, of Milton, was traveling west on John Brady Drive when Crawley's vehicle drove north across the lanes of travel, striking Long's vehicle.
Mar. 20 to Mar. 21, Police reported that unknown actors entered the residence of Shirley Miller, 41, of Hughesville. The actors did not remove anything from the residence. Anyone with information should contact PSP Montoursville at 570-368-5700.
4:24 p.m. Mar. 21, Police reported that a crash occurred as a vehicle driven by Lawrence Skellenger, 61, of Williamsport, and a vehicle driven by Terry Moore, 51, of Williamsport, were traveling north on Northway Road. Moore's vehicle was slowing to make a left turn. Skellenger's vehicle failed to slow down and struck the rear of Moor's vehicle.
1:53 a.m. Mar. 22, Police reported that a crash occurred as a vehicle driven by Joshua Swinehart, 26, of South Williamsport, was traveling east in the 1100 block of State Route 654 when the vehicle swerved to avoid a deer in the roadway. The vehicle traveled off of the shoulder and struck and address sign on the south berm.
3:07 p.m. Mar. 22, Police reported that a crash occurred as a vehicle driven by David Berkowitz, 72, of Muncy, was traveling east on State Route 442 when the vehicle lost control while negotiating a sharp left curve in the roadway. The vehicle swerved left and went into a clockwise spin. The vehicle exited the roadway on the north side, impacted an embankment, and rolled onto its roof. Berkowitz sustained minor injuries and was transported to Muncy Valley Hospital for treatment.
5:52 p.m. Mar. 23, Police reported that a crash occurred as a vehicle driven by Ryan Desiena, 30, of Kingston, was traveling in the right hand lane of E. Third St. heading east bound when the vehicle went off the right hand side of the roadway and struck a utility pole.
