Details released of Friday night fatal crash on Route 220.

We've received the Pennsylvania State Police report on the Friday evening, March 7, 2014, fatal car accident. Police say that around 8:30 P.M. a 1994 Toyota 4Runner driven by 80 year old Milton Boob was traveling South in the Northbound lane of State Route 220 near the Route 287 intersection East of Jersey Shore, Pa. This is in the area of a railroad bridge overpass.

A 2004 Dodge Durango driven by Nathan Stewart, 28 years old, with passenger Christine Muthler, 29, and a 2002 Jeep Cherokee driven by Kyle Mearkle, 20, with Audree Mearkle, 20, and Christina White, 48, passengers, were both traveling North in the North bound lane of Route 220.
Police report that the Toyota struck head on into the Dodge Durango in the travel lane. The Jeep then struck the Toyota.
When EMS units responded to the scene, they quickly reported 3 people were entraped in vehicles and requested 2 additional ambulances. Shortely afterward, ground personal requested 3 Life Flight medical helicopters to respond, and indicated they would prepare a landing zone right on Route 220.
The Lycoming County Coroner was requested at the scene. Milton Boob, driver of the Toyota died as a result of the crash. The occupants of the other two vehicles suffered varying degrees of injury. The report gave no other specifics as to who was taken to area hospitals. Milton Boob was from Loganton.
Fire police helped with traffic control as Route 200 between Route 287 and the Jersey Shore exit was closed for several hours.
