Uni-Mart robbery suspect arrested

State Police arrested Jason Spoeri, 29, of Hughesville on robbery charges at 7:20 a.m. Feb. 5. 

According to police, Spoeri entered Uni-Mart  at 1 N. Main St., Hughesville, brandishing a large knife. Spoeri threatened to kill the an employee if she did not comply with his order to give him money. The clerk refused, and Spoeri fled the store on foot. He was later identified by two store employees which led Police to a residence in Wolf Township. 

At 7:55 a.m., State Police, Hughesville Police, Muncy Police and Muncy Township Police arrested Spoeri at a home on Lime Bluff Road, approximately two miles from the Uni-Mart. Police served the homeowner with a search warrant and collected evidence that will be examined in connection with four previous robberies in the area. 

Spoeri was araigned before Magisterial District Judge Jon Kemp and then committed to the Lycoming County Prison on $500,000 bail. Other charges in this case include two counts of robbery, one count of terroristic threats, one count of possessing instruments of crime, one count of prohibited offensive weapon, one count of simple assault and one count of theft by unlawful taking.
