Police report various incidents
Pennsylvania State Police Department Montoursville reported the following incidents:
Nov. 16 to Nov. 30, Police reported that stolen property valued at $317.85 was recovered at a residene in Williamsport when police responded to a verbal domestic argument. Charges are pending.
7:15 p.m. Dec. 23, Police reported that a male and female accompanied by two small children entered Kmart at approximately 7 p.m. The male then concealed a paintbull gun and paintballs at approximately 7:15 p.m. in an empty plastic shopping bag and left the store through the front door without paying for the items. Anyone with information pertaining to this investigation is encouraged to contact PSP Montoursville at 570-368-5700.
10:15 p.m. Dec. 25, Police reported that Brooke Rose, 23, of Hughesville, and Shane Wright, 22, of Hughesville, got into an argument. During the argument, Wright pushed Rose from her barstool, causing her to fall backwards. Wright was charged with harrasment.
2:34 a.m. Dec. 26, Police reported that a crash occurred as a vehicle driven by Jay Snyder, 62, of Muncy, was traveling east on State Route 442, just east of its intersection with State Route 405. Another vehicle was making a right turn onto the roadway and traveled across the double yellow line, causing the vehicle's rear to strike the left side of Snyder's vehicle. The vehicle continued after initial impack and did not stop. Snyder's vehicle continued to travel east on the roadway and came to final rest on the south should of the road. There were no witnesses to this crash.
8 a.m. Dec. 27, Police reported that a crash occurred as a vehicle driven by Bradley Dodd, 55, of Jersey Shore, was traveling on State Route 654. The vehicle was coming out of a left hand curve and drifted off the right hand side of the roadway. The vehicle struck an embankment and overturned onto its roof. Dodd was treated for a minor injury and will be charged appropriately.
1:25 p.m. Dec. 27, Police reported that two male juveniles attempted to steal merchandise from Kmart. Store personnel took both accused persons into custody when they attempted to leave the store with the stolen merchandise. The police were then contacted to take custody of the actors. Summary charges have been filed against both actors.
5:53 p.m. Dec. 27, Police reported that a crash occurred as a vehicle driven by Robert Ulrich, 65, of Montoursville, was making a left turn from Lincoln Drive onto County Club Drive. The vehicle traveled approximately 60 feet past the intersection and impacted another vehicle that was legally parked along the wst shoulder of the roadway.
6:15 p.m. Dec. 27, Police reported that a crash occurred as a vehicle driven by Doughlas Baxter, 61, of Trout Run, was traveling north on Lake Road. The vehicle traveled off of the east side of the roadway and struck a tree approximately 15 feet off the roadway, causing the vehicle to overturn onto its left side. Baxter was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.
Dec. 27 to Dec. 29, Police reported that an actor broke into Drill String Services, Inc., and stole some items.
12:43 a.m. Dec. 28, Police reported that a crash occured as a vehicle driven by Ted Dye, Jr., 39, of Cogan Station, was traveling east on Upper Powys Road approximately half a mile east of Lycoming Creek Road. The vehicle failed to maintain a proper speed on the snow covered roadway and traveled onto the south shoulder of Upper Powys Road. The vehicle continued to travel off of the roadway and down an embankment, which caused it to turn over onto its roof. The vehicle came to final rest on its roof on the embankment, facing east. Dye was uninjured.
11:25 a.m. Dec. 29, Police reported that a crash occurred as a vehicle driven by Charles Martin, 51, of Trout Run, was traveling west on Southard Road in Gamble Township. The vehicle then struck a barrier along the east bound lane after traveling off the roadway. After striking the barrier, the vehicle spun and oveturned onto its driver side. Martin was not injured and was cited for driving on the right side of the roadway.
10:50 p.m. Dec. 29, Police reported that Kelsey Sampsell, 22, of Montgomery, and Franklin Smith, 23, of Montgomery, got into a verbal altercation that turned physical. Smith was charged with multiple misdemeanor charges.
4:30 p.m. Dec. 30, Police reported that a crash occurred as a vehicle driven by Spencer Cotner, 17, of Muncy, was traveling east on Musser Lane, followng a vehicle driven by Taylor Reitz, 18, of Muncy. As Reitz's vehicle approached Herbling Lane, it slowed suddenly in an effot to turn left onto Herbling Lane. Cotner's vehicle was unable to stop prior to striking Reitz's vehicle and pulled into the westbound lane in an effort to go around and avoid Reitz's vehicle. While turning, Reitz's vehicle struck Cotner's vehicle broadside. No one was injured. Cotner was cited appropriately.
