Fire on Fourth St. results in casualty

The City of Williamsport Bureau of Police released the following statement:
The Williamsport Bureau of Fire was dispatched to a structure fire at 10:35 p.m. Oct. 26 located at 1450 W. Fourth St.
Upon arrival, the Williamsport Bureau of Fire discovered the first floor was fully involved with extension into the second floor. The building is a two story tenant-occupied structure with two tenants residing on the first floor and one tenant residing on the second floor.
The Williamsport Bureau of Police also responded and assisted with the rescue of a second floor occupant.
The Williamsport Bureau of Fire had the flames under control shortly after midnight and police left the scene. A short time later a body was discovered by fire department personnel. The Williamsport Bureau of Police was requested to come back to the scene. Agent Trent Peacock was notified and requested to assist the Wiliamsport Bureau of Fire in the investigation.
Fire investigators are currently on scene attempting to determine the cause and origin. Additional resources were called in to assist in the investigation including the Pennsylvania State Police, The Lycoming County District Attorney's Office, The Lycoming County Coroner's Office, and a K-9 accelerant detection dog from Dauphin County, Pa.
At the time of this release investigators are still on scene collecting evidence. The victim was removed from the scene and additional testing is being conducted. Additional details are forthcoming and will be released as thy become available.
