Police report various incidents

The Montoursville State Police Department reported the following incidents:
Oct. 17 at 1:02 p.m., According to police, Nicole Renee Bierly, 28, took a total of 20 items with a total value of $320.30 off of shelves in Kmart and placed them into her purse. Bierly attempted to leave Kmart without paying for the items and was stopped at the store exit. Bierly was detained by Kmart Loss Prevention staff and the items were recovered from her purse
Oct. 19 at 4:10 a.m., Police reported that a vehicle driven by Tyler Hall, 20, of North Huntingdon, was traveling east on I-180 east in the right lane. The point of initial impact occured as the vehicle struck a deer that was attempting to cross the roaway. The vehcle came to final restion position approximately 200 feet east of the point of initial impact facing east on the southen berm of the roadway. Hall was uninjured.
Oct. 19 at 11 p.m., Police reported that a vehicle driven by Justin Kauffman, 24, of York, was traveling west on Sinking Springs Road. Kauffman's vehicle went off the right shoulder of the roadway. The driver tried to correct himself and overcompensated, crossing over the width of the road to the left side. He then went off the left side of the road and struck a tree. The vehicle traveled down the embankment on the left side of the roadway and rolled onto its side. It then came to rest against a tree. Kauffman walked away from the scene and was taken to Lock Haven Hospital by an unknown person.
