Mayor Announces Nusisance Property Task Force
By City of Williamsport, Office of the Mayor, Gabriel J. Campana
October 18, 2013
Mayor Campana has announced the creation of the Nuisance Property Task Force. This committee is made up with city residents who are stakeholders in highly populated rental neighborhoods. They will work with the administration to decrease nuisance properties. Meetings will occur on a monthly basis. Members of the committee are the following city residents: Ted Lyons, Ron James, Bernie Timmons and Robbie Cross.
In addition, the administration will recommend adding language to the proposed Landlord Ordinance that will require all city, county, and school district taxes to be paid in full. If not, a rental license will not be issued. Therefore, the property cannot be occupied. This language is similar to the City of Scranton’s rental ordinance.
