Montoursville State Police report various criminal activities
October 15, 2013
The following incidents were reported by the Montoursville State Police Department:
Sept. 1, 1:10 a.m., Officer Derron Farber reported that Debra Borgess, 50, of South Williamsport, was stopped for weaving and failure to signal a lane change. Once stopped she was found to be intoxicated and failed field sobriety testing. Charges have been filed in Magisterial District Court 29-3-02.
Oct. 3, 11:23 a.m., Officer Ryan Golla reported that two males attempted to enter Speedy's Market, Jersey Shore, by throwing large rocks at th front window. The two males fled the scene on an ATV in an unknown direction.
Oct. 8 at 9:20 p.m., Officer Daniel Switzer reported that the house of Joseph Frantz, 48, of South Williamsport, was shot at with paintballs by unknown actors who then fled the scene. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the police department at (570) 368-5700.
Oct. 9, 9:29 p.m., Officer Daniel Switzer reported a one-vehicle crash occured when a vehicle driven by Ty Day, 20, of Williamsport was travelling West on I-80 W traveled off the southern berm of the roadway into the grass median. Day's car continued through the median and began to rotate counter-clockwise. Initial point of impact occured when Day's car struck the ditch. Avery Maxon, 19, of Williamsport, a passenger in Day's car, was ejected from the vehicle during the crash and transported by helicopter to Geisinger Hospital in Danville. The passenger sustained major injuries as a result of the crash. Day was uninjured.
Oct. 10, 9:15 a.m., Officer Brian Evarts reported that a crash occured as a vehicle driven by Allen Byers, 35 of Middleburg, was traveling east on State Route 184 in the right hand lane. A deer entered the roadway and struck Byers's vehicle. The vehicle then traveled across the west bound lane of traffic and came to final rest on the left hand side of the road. Byers was wearing his seatbelt and suffered minor injury.
Oct. 11, 9:30 p.m., Officer Daniel Switzer reported that a vehicle crash occured as a vehicle driven by Lauren Gummo, 20, of Lock Haven, was traveling south of State Route 880 struck the rear end of an unattended vehicle parked off of te western berm of the roadway. A passenger in Gummo's vehicle was injured as a result of the crash and Transported to Jersey Shore Hospital with minor injuries.
