Clinton County CleanScapes for Cleanup Event,

September 6, 2013

Join Clinton County CleanScapes (CCC) and Lock Haven University students during the West Branch Susquehanna River Cleanup Community Cleanup Event, September 7, Dunnstable Township, Clinton County. In July, and after a nine-year commitment, CleanScapes participants completed the West Branch Susquehanna Rivertrail tire and trash removal project-beginning at mile marker 74 (Farrandsville Road/Railroad bridge, Colebrook Township) down river to mile marker 69 (western edge of the Great Island, Woodward Township). The September event will concentrate on 2 locations. The first site (mile marker 67) is a good location for new participants and the water level is very low. The second site is more challenging-the river is a little deeper/swifter and experience is recommended. Both sites are located between mile markers 65-67 and will be accessed through private property. Complementary shuttle service, from the meeting location to the cleanup sites, is provided by Susquehanna Transit and canoes are provided by Country Ski & Sport in Montoursville.
This year’s event sponsor is provided by the Dominion Foundation. The Clinton County Community Foundation has provided funding for our event insurance with supplemental support. The attachment will offer you greater details. Contact us with any additional questions. Pre-registration is requested by September 4, 12 Noon. To register for this event respond to this email or call me at 570.726.3511.
Have a safe & enjoyable holiday weekend, best wishes to all & we look forward to seeing you riverside!
