Crops Damaged in Muncy

Crops Damaged in Muncy - Property owned by three Moreland Township farmers was vandalized over the summer, and state police are seeking information regarding the vandals. Trooper Johnathan Buynak said oduring the overnight hours of July 14, an unknown individual drove through crop fields and lawn belonging to Denny Wagner, 52, Jesse Houseknecht, 91, of Bruce Vandyne, 77, in the area of Moyer Road. The estimated value of the damage is estimated to be $1,450, Buynak said.
State police also responded to the following emergencies:
- Aug. 19, 12:45 a.m., Club Fred Inc., 2810 Old Montoursville Road, Loyalsock Township, was forcefully entered through a back door by unknown persons, setting off the audible alarm. The burglar fled the scene of the genetlemen's club, Trooper Douglass Hoffman said.
- Aug. 18, 4:15 p.m., 836 Route 442 Highway, Muncy Creek Township, Cpl Derron M. Farber assisted members of the Lycoming County Adult Probation Office with taking Larry D. Aunkst, Jr. into custody. Aunkst, Jr., had fled from authorities on July 20. On that occasion, Larry D. Aunkst, Sr., 48, Sherry Aunkst, 46, and Nicole Bierly, 28, of 1622 Sherman St., Williamsport were present when authorities arrived at the residence. All were advised that Aunkst Jr. was wanted for violating the terms of his probation, and if they were found to be assisting in the future, all would be charged. Once Aunkst Jr. was apprehended, all three individuals were found to be present and were charged with hindering apprehension or prosecution, Farber said.
