South Williamsport Driver Charged With Alleged Assault Following Dispute - PSP Montoursville filed simple assault and harassment charges against a 20-year-old man following a verbal argument with another motorist. Trooper Travis Pena said David Setser, 344 George Street, South Willilamsport, and William Bejamin Macinnis, Jr., 39, of 329 W. Southern Ave., South Williamsport, were arguing over a traffic violation while driving on Bloomingrove Road at Shaw Road. During the argument, Setser retried a black shotgun with pistol grip from his vehicle and was waving the firearm around before returning to his vehicle and fleeing the scene. Macinnins contact state police to report the incident, which occurred Saturday, March 9, around 10:30 p.m.
State police also responded to the following incidents:
- March 21, between 7 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., the home of Lucy Bieber, 59, of 1492 Harvey Road, Eldred Township, was entered while Bieber was away for the day. The burglar stole $80 in cash from Bieber's wallet along with a white cameo ring and a 1971 Montoursville class ring.
- On March 24, 2:30 a.m., Jesse Stahl, 36, of Williamsport, allegedly swerved across the center line and then ran a stop sign in the area of Catherine and Sheridan streets. Trooper Adam Kirk initiated a traffic stop and detected the strong odor of an alcoholic bevereage about Stahl's breath and brody. Stahl was taken to the Williamsport DUI center for albood draw; DUI charges are pending the blood results.
