Firearms, Jewelry Stolen From Loyalsock Township Residence - PSP Montoursville are seeking additional information regarding a burglary that occurred earlier this month in Loyalsock Township. Trooper Joel Miles said between 3 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on March 14, someone broke a basement window and entered the residence of Albert Stopper, 1004 Bonair Drive, Williamsport. Once inside, two guns and numerous items of jewelry were stolen. Anyone with infromation is asked to call 570.368.5700.

Muncy Man Incarcerated Following Alleged Simple Assault - PSP Montoursville responded to a incident in Moreland Township which resulted in the incarceration of a Muncy man. Trooper Martin said a 42-year-old woman contacted the Montoursville barracks after running out of her residence on Laidacker Road to hide in a wooded area from her husband who struck her in the face shortly after 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 17. Upon arrival, Martin observed the wife to have a bleeding laceration on her lip. Through interviewing others that were present during the incident, it was determined that Steven Jack Bartlett, 42, had been drinking throughout the day when an argument rose between the man and his wife. Bartlett then struck his wife in the mouth with a closed fist. Bartlett was located approximately 100 yards away from the residence laying underneath a pine tree with a bottle of voka. He was arraigned and jailed at the Lycoming County Prison in lieu of $5,000 bail.

State police also reported the following incidents:

  • Feb. 22, 9:08 p.m., Andrew Ryan Leaberry, 19, of Landenberg, PA, was traveling southbound on Maynard Street in Williamsport without his head lamps activated during the time frame when head lamps were required. Trooper Jared King initiated a traffic stop at the intersection of Maynard Street and the on-ramp to Interstate 180, instructing Leaberry to move to a safer location. Upon contact, the alleged odor of marijuana was emanating from the vehicle; a consent search was obtained and paraphernalia was allegedly discovered, King said.
  • March 16, 12:42 a.m., in the 4800 block of Route 287 in Mifflin Township, Julie Ann Maher, 34, was allegedly found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana and related paraphernalia.
  • March 17, 12:45 a.m., Tamara Altom, 43, of South Williamsport made a left turn in the area of Maynard Street and West Southern Avenue without using a turn signal. Trooper Adam Kirk stopped Altom and allegedly detected the faint odor of an alcoholic beverage in Altom's breath and body. Altom was taken for a blood drawn; charges are pending blood results, Kirk said.
