Man Jailed After Allegedly Posing as Doctor's Employee to Obtain Prescription Medicine in Loyalsock - PSP Montoursville filed alleged criminal prescription fraud charges against a 28-year-old man following an incident in Loyalsock Township. Trooper Erik Brlett said during Feb. 11-12, John Stephen Weber did knowingly and intentionally acquire or obtain possession of 45 Xanax tablets from Giant Eagle Pharmacy by misrepresenting himself as the office of Dr. Timothy Derstine. Then on Feb. 12, Weber attempted to obtain 60 tablets of Klonopin at the same pharmacy and was arrested for violation of the controlled substance, drug, device and cosmetic act. A preliminary arraignment was held in front of District Judge James Sortman; bail was set at $25,000. Weber could not post bail and was remanded to the Lycoming County Prison, Barlett said.

Hughesville Teen Suffers Gunshot Wound While Hunting - A 17-year-old man was injured last Friday while hunting in Penn Township. Trooper Ruyan Golla said the teen suffered a gunshot wound to the right index finger while hunting raccoon on the family property, located at 435 Rishel Hollow Road on Friday, Feb. 15, shortly before 11 p.m.
