Blue Cross launches online portal for purchasing individual health insurance
By Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania
January 25, 2013
Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania (BCNEPA) recently launched an expanded version of The Blue Cross Store, a full-service online marketplace designed for individual consumers and employers seeking health insurance coverage.
Using The Blue Cross Store, which is located on BCNEPA's website www.bcnepa.com<http://www.bcnepa.com>, individual consumers can compare plans with varying deductible, co-insurance and premium options to choose a plan that best suits their needs. Consumers can then receive quotes based on the options they've chosen, and can buy and enroll in a plan directly online.
Coverage options for individuals that are available on the site include five BlueCare Direct plans that offer multiple deductible and premium levels, as well as plans for consumers with pre-existing conditions or who are eligible for Medicare.
For employers, the site also includes information on choosing defined contribution plans. This innovative solution allows employers to maintain health insurance coverage through a fixed cost contribution that helps employees pay for a plan that best suits their personal needs.
To access The Blue Cross Store, visit www.bcnepa.com<http://www.bcnepa.com> and click on the shopping cart image. Current BCNEPA members can also visit www.bcnepa.com<https://www.bcnepa.com/> and register for the Member Self-Service portal to review their claims, benefit and health and wellness information. Members who register for Self-Service by February 28 will be automatically entered in a contest to win the newest iPad.
