Trout Run Driver Dead Following Lewis Township Accident - A 26-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene of Lewis Township Crash. PSP Montoursville Trooper Johnathan Buynak said the driver, whose identity is not being released pending family notification, was traveling northbound on Route 14 shortly before 11 p.m. on Jan 12. As the man was negotiating a right curve at Field Station Road, he failed to maitain control of his vehicle and traveled off the roadway, striking a traffic sign and rock cliff before overturnig and coming to final rest. The driver was pronounced dead by Lycoming County Coroner Charles Keissling; police allege that alcohol was a factor in the crash, Buynak said.
Second Shooting of 2013 in Williamsport - The Williamsport Bureau of Police were dispatched to a shooting that occurred at approximately 10:41 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12. The shooting occurred outside a residence in the 600 block of Spruce Street. Police confirm that one male victim was struck by gunfire and transported by private vehicle to a local hospital for treatment of nonlife-threatening injuries. Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting but do not believe that the shooting was a random act, despite sketchy details.
