Mayor Observes Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October 10, 2012 will be the 5th year that Mayor Gabriel Campana has felt the need to bring Breast Cancer Awareness to all of the citizens of Williamsport. The front of City Hall at 245 West Fourth Street will be decorated with pink lights and pink ribbons and will be illuminated on Wed., October 10 at 6:30.

This year, the meaning of this event, will have a greater impact in the Mayor’s office as the Mayor’s Executive Assistant is going through treatment for breast cancer.

The Mayor and his Executive Assistant knows that everyone has at least one person on their mind or in their heart that have dealt with this disease and other types of cancer. We are lucky enough to have seen survivors, but others have not been able to win the battle and have left this earth. On this night we will remember those that went ahead of us and honor the family members and friends that are still with us here today and support them all the more.

Refreshments will be served as well as door prizes will be awarded to the survivors.
