Bomb Threat Message Discovered in Loyalsock Township School
Bomb Threat Message Discovered in Loyalsock Township School - For the second time in a span of 24 hours, a bomb threat message was discovered at a Lycoming County school.
PSP Trooper T. R. Havens said around 10:20 a.m. on Friday, May 4, a bomb threat was discovered written in pencil by a student on a bathroom wall at the Lycoming Valley Middle School.
An investigation was conducted by school officials, the Williamsport Bureau of Police and the State Police, Havens said. A 14-year-old female student at the school, located at 1825 Hays Lane, ultimately confessed to the threat and acted alone. Criminal charges will be filed and the student will face disciplinary action from the Williamsport School District.
Havens said the incident was isolated and not connected with a first bomb threat which occurred on Thursday, May 3 in East Lycoming School District.
In that incident, all schools in the East Lycoming district were evacuated by 10:30 a.m. after school administration received an e-mail message which indicated several bombs had been planted within the Hughesville High School building. Authorities scoured the property but discovered nothing.
