Indecent Exposure in Piatt Township
Indecent Exposure in Piatt Township – PSP Montoursville continue to investigate an incident of indecent exposure which allegedly occurred last month to multiple victims in Piatt Township. Trooper James R. Doane said on Tuesday, Jan. 17 around 9:45 a.m. a 29-year-old Avis man was observed in his vehicle by passing motorists on Route 287 in the area of Route 220. As the victims passed the vehicle, the man would open the door of his vehicle and expose his genitals. The vehicle was stopped by state police and the suspect, along with his vehicle, was positively identified by several witnesses, Doane said. The investigation continues pending the filing of charges against the suspect.
PSP Montoursville also responded to the following incidents:
IDENTITY THEFT – On Feb. 8 around noon, Melissa Farenish, 35, of 340 Back St., Montoursville reported numerous credit cards accounts were opened in her name.
THEFT – On Jan. 31, shortly after 10 a.m., Rodney Phillips, 60, of 477 Old Glade Run Road, Muncy, bought a vehicle on e-Bay and sent two different payments to the seller totaling $18,160. Trooper Brian M. Evarts said the seller then never sent the vehicle to Phillips; the incident is currently under investigation.
VEHICLE ACCIDENT – On Feb. 17, around 5:45 p.m., Robert W. Clark, 71, of Canton, sustained minor injuries as a result of an accident on Sugar Camp Road I Eldred Township. Trooper Travis Pena said Clark was traveling south on that road, approximately 3000 feet north of Mill Creek Road during icy road conditions. As Clark applied his brakes in attempt to slow his vehicle down on a downhill slope in the road, his vehicle slid across the northbound lane and left the roadway, traveling down a 40-foot ditch and impacting the bottom of the ditch with the front end of the vehicle against a tree.
DUI – Neal Howard Dunn, 39 of Williamsport, was stopped for multiple traffic violations on Feb. 5, around 2:21 a.m. on Interstate 180, Loyalsock Township. Further investigation by Trooper David Walker revealed Dunn to be DUI; appropriate charges were filed, Walker said.
THEFT – During a one-month span of time, seismic recorder units were stolen from a natural gas company in the eastern end of Lycoming County. Trooper James Doane said between Jan. 2 and Feb. 2, 44 Geospace Seismic Recorder measuring devices were taken from various townships including Upper Fairfield, Muncy Creek and Wolf township. The devices belong to Tesla Exploration, Doane said.
