Muncy Man Killed in Sunday Afternoon Crash – PSP Montoursville say a 47-year-old man was ejected from a truck he was operating shortly before 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 12 in Muncy Creek Township. Trooper Paul McGee said Brian G. Gresh, of Muncy, was traveling westbound on Muncy Exchange Road just west of Kepner Hill Road when the vehicle began to swerve out of control. The 2002 Dodge Dakota Gresh has driving hit a dirt hill embankment on the right side of the roadway on the front of the vehicle, causing the truck to spin around and hit the embankment a second time with the rear of the vehicle. The impact caused the truck to roll over while traveling across the roadway in a southwesterly direction, McGee said. During the course of the roll over, Gresh was ejected through the driver side window while the truck kept rolling in a southwesterly direction, rolling over a cattle fence and landing in a cow pasture right side up. Gresh, who was not wearing a seatbelt when he was ejected, was pronounced dead at the scene by Lycoming County Deputy Coroner Jerold Ross.
Williamsport Resident Allegedly Shot by Estranged Wife - On Sunday, Feb. 12, at approximately 10:11 a.m., Williamsport Police Officers were dispatched to 1164 Memorial Ave. for a reported shots fired call. Upon officers arriving on the scene they discovered that Raymond Brooks had been shot in the abdomen. Brooks was transported to the Williamsport hospital by ambulance and subsequently life-flighted to another hospital where he has since been operated on and is in critical condition. Raymond Brooks did state after the shooting and while waiting for the ambulance that Shakira Fagan-Brooks shot him.
A blue Nissan was reported to have left the scene at approximately the time of the shooting, Officer Sorage said.
Police spoke with Brooks’ mother at the Williamsport Hospital, who confirmed that around 2 a.m. Brooks did have an argument/fight with his estranged wife, Shakira Fagan-Brooks of Philadelphia. During the argument Shakira Fagan-Brooks, 30, got a bloody nose, and repeatedly kept saying that, "He's gonna get it. He's gonna get it for putting his hands on me."
Subsequent investigation police to the location of a house on West 4th St. where authorities located Joshua Cobb driving a blue Nissan. Cobb was taken into custody at that time.
Officer Sorage, along with other officers of the Williamsport Police Department did locate Shakira Fagan-Brooks at Cobb’s apartment at 1546 West 4th St. Fagan-Brooks was taken into custody and transported to City Hall, Sorange said.
At City Hall, Shakira was interviewed and stated that she was upset after Brooks had struck her in the face at approximately 2 a.m. Shakira further stated that she did obtain a firearm, a .38 calibre revolver from someone approximately two hours prior to going back to Raymond Brooks’ residence. Shakira stated that she confronted Brooks about hitting her and that he didn't seem to care that he had hurt her. Shakira stated that she then pulled the gun out and shot twice at him. Shakira stated that she was about 5 feet away from him at the time and she didn't know that she had hit him. Shakira further stated that she does not possess a permit to carry a firearm.
A firearm was located in the apartment where Shakira had been located. That firearm was a Smith and Wesson .38 revolver with serial number J948465 which appeared to have been fired. Shakira admitted that was the firearm that she used in this incident. That firearm was reported stolen in 2011 from the city of Philadelphia and was in the possession of Cobb.
