South Williamsport Driver Sustains Major Injuries Following Crash on Route 15 – PSP Montoursville report 29-year-old Lonnie R. Gaines Jr. was injured, and his 1-year-old son sustained minor injuries on Wednesday following a three-vehicle crash in Armstrong Township. Trooper Jared King said Gaines and another driver, Barlow Rhodes, 68, of Alpine New York were traveling southbound in the left lane in the area of the 600 block of Route 15 shortly before 11:30 a.m. yesterday. Gaines was slowing to make a left hand turn when Rhodes struck the rear end of Gaines’s vehicle. Gaines’s car was pushed into the northbound lane, where it made impact with the left rear axle of a Freightliner truck operated by 33-year-old George T. Harvey Jr., of Hagerstown, Maryland. Gaines’s vehicle then rotated 180 degrees where it came to final rest. Gaines and the child were transported to the Williamsport Hospital; Rhodes and Harvey were not injured in the crash, King said.
