Williamsport Driver and Passenger Sustain Injuries in Hit and Run Accident – PSP Montoursville said a driver sustained minor injuries while his passenger was transported to the hospital for treatment of moderate injuries following an accident in Loyalsock Township. Trooper Christine Fye said Barry L. Artis, 24, and Kendra A. Reed, 21, both of Williamsport, were traveling eastbound on Washington Boulevard on Jan. 20 around 2:15 a.m. Artis was unable to maintain control of the 1997 Chevrolet S10 truck, and crossed over the fog line before striking the curb on just west of East 3rd St. The vehicle then continued up and over the curb causing secondary impact with a pole, coming to final rest. Upon arrival of state police at the site, neither Artis nor Reed was present. Reed was later located approximately a quarter mile from the crash scene and transported to the Williamsport Hospital for injuries, Fye said. Artis was cited in the accident for failing to immediately notify police, careless driving, driving at a safe speed, and not having a driver’s license.
