Bail Set for Loyalsock Township Man for Alleged Thefts – A $25,000 straight bail was set for a Loyalsock Township man for allegedly stealing from a Clinton Township business. Trooper Troy Hendershot said Jeremy Bickel, 33, was placed in the Lycoming County prison and is awaiting a preliminary hearing after being accused of driving to B and C Auto Wreckers, 4867 Route 15, and removing 53 catalytic converters around 3 a.m. on Jan 6. Bickel was located at his residence and taken into custody, Hendershot said. A search warrant was executed on Bickel’s vehicle which yielded the recovery of the converters.
PSP Montoursville reported the following incidents in Lycoming County:
THEFT - Over a three-day period, someone stole approximately $550 worth of scrap metal from Fulmer’s Storage Trailers, 462 Fairfield Road, Montoursville. Trooper Daniel Kozak said the thefts occurred at unknown times between Jan. 6 and Jan. 9; investigation is ongoing at this time.
ATTEMPTED SUICIDE – A 42-year-old man attempted to commit suicide by carbon monoxide poisoning. Trooper Johnathan Buynak said the man was found inside his garage at 1025 Harding Road, Franklin Township, around 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 10. The man attempted to use fumes from his vehicle, Buynak said. The man was transported to the hospital where he was stabilized, then committed under the mental health act, Buynak said.
DRUG POSSESSION – Derrick Vincent Draft Jr., 19, of Philadelphia, was arrested for a bench warrant shortly after 10 a.m. on Jan. 9. Trooper Joel Miles said while searching Draft, two small plastic baggies containing marijuana were discovered in Draft’s front pocket. Charges were filed with District Judge Allen Page
Suspected DUI Charges Filed Against Lycoming County Residents - PSP Montoursville filed alleged DUI charges and related offenses against the following suspected individuals:
Johnny Brock, 30, of Trout Run was involved in a crash at 2295 Slacks Run Road, Cascade Township around 8:30 on Dec. 12, 2011. Brock fled the scene and was located at his residence, Trooper Michael Shipman said. Brock appeared to be under the influence of alcohol; charges were filed with District Judge Whiteman.
Craig A. Wheeland, 52, of 653 Old Rte. 15, Cogan Station. Cpl. Derron M. Farber said Wheeland was stopped for speeding and crossing the center lines of Route 1017/Lycoming Creek Road, in Lewis Township shortly before 7 p.m. on Dec. 5, 2011. Once stopped, Wheeland gave indications of intoxication; he was taken into custody and had blood drawn, Farber said.
Jeffery Brian Dauber, 35, of Jersey Shore. Dauber was arrested for DUI after an eyewitness called state police to report that Dauber’s 2006 Jeep Commander was swerving from lane to lane and driving erratically on Route 220 on Nov. 23 around 7:30 p.m. Trooper Cory Beaver said Dauber had driven his vehicle around the guide rails near the Woodward Township building and into the yard at 4642 Route 220. Within minutes of the call, Beaver arrives and found Dauber behind the wheels of the Jeep, the engine was running and the lights were on. Charges were filed with District Judge Jerry Lepley, Beaver said.
Nicholas Anthony Rewpella, 26, of Montoursville. Trooper David Walker said Rewpella was stopped on Interstate 180 in Loyalsock Township for multiple traffic violations at 2 a.m. on Nov. 6, 2011. Further investigation revealed Rewpella to be DUI, Walker said.
Zachary Ryan Hartzog, 18, of Montgomery. Trooper David Walker said Hartzog was stopped for multiple traffic violation on Interstate 180, Loyalsock Township shortly after 11 p.m. on Nov. 5, 2011. Further investigation revealed Hartzog to be DUI, Walker said.
