Juvenile Reports Attempted Abduction in Loyalsock Township – PSP Montoursville continue to investigate an attempted child abduction which occurred last evening, Jan. 5. Trooper Sean Cooney said as a juvenile was walking home from a school event, between 7 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., a white male pulled in front of the Loyalsock Middle / High School on Loyalsock Drive and attempted to get the juvenile to get inside the vehicle. The male is described as being in his 30s, with brown curly hair, scruffy facial hair, with a thin build. The juvenile described the man as having bags/red under his eyes, and a deep voice. Additionally, the suspect was wearing a dark baseball hat and dark-colored hooded sweatshirt. He was driving a white four door Ford Explorer with tinted windows, Cooney said. When the juvenile started to dial 911, the driver fled west on Loyalsock Drive towards Northway Road. Anyone with information regarding this incident should contact 570.368.5700.

PSP  Montoursville also responded to the following incidents:
On Dec. 29, shortly after noon, a tractor trailer was traveling south in the 1500 block of Edwards Road in Cogan House Township. The vehicle was hauling what is referred to as a “sand box” to a well pad site when the smoke stack on the trailer portion caught an electrical wire and pulled the wire partially down. The operator of the truck was wearing a seatbelt and did not sustain any injuries, Trooper Brandon Schrawder said.

On Jan 3, around 5:15 p.m., Glenn R. Zarr, 56 of Montgomery, was traveling west on Route 54 in Clinton Township. As Zarr approached the intersection of Route 54 and Route 15, he applied the Chevy S-10 truck’s brakes, Trooper Douglass Hoffman said. The brakes failed and Zarr was unable to stop the truck. The truck crossed the north berm and struck a mailbox at the side of the road and continued through the intersection, where it struck a utility pole before coming to final rest. No injuries were reported, Hoffman said.
