Icy Road Conditions a Factor in Four-Vehicle Accident in Muncy Creek Township

Icy Road Conditions Cause of Four-Vehicle Accident in Muncy Creek Township – A driver and its three passengers sustained injuries following a four-vehicle accident, in Muncy Creek Township earlier this week.

Trooper Jared King said all four occupants were transported to Muncy Valley Hospital for treatment on Monday, as the accident occurred shortly before 6:30 p.m. on Route 405. Joshua Moser, 29 of Montgomery, Sean M. Smith, 22, of White Deer, Stephanie L. Princereginald walter , 40 of Montgomery were traveling in the westbound lane of Route 405 when Prince was slowing for traffic due to icy conditions. Moser’s vehicle had initial impact with Prince’s vehicle in the rear end; Smith’s vehicle struck the rear end of Moser’s vehicle then traveled into the eastbound lane.

Then the driver of the fourth vehicle, Kathy Shiley, 30, of Watsontown made initial impact of Smith’s vehicle then traveled into the westbound lane where it made primary impact with Moser’s vehicle. Shiley and her three passengers, Tyrennie Aunkst, 25, of Hughesville, Jade London, 21, of Muncy, and a 4-year-old female sustained injuries.

The following drivers were arrested for suspicion of DUI by PSP Montoursville and PSP Lamar:
Robin Updegraff, 56, of Trout Run, in front of 337 Marsh Hill Rd., McIntyre Township, on Saturday, Nov. 19, 7:50 p.m.

Paul Michael Harton, 31, stopped for summary moving violation on Interstate 180 westbound at exit 25. Harton showed signs of intoxication and was taken to the Williamsport Hospital ER for a legal blood draw.

Dennis Michael Morales, 44, of 1515 W. 4th St., Williamsport who was operating a vehicle erratically on Interstate 180 westbound area of the Loyalsock Township/Williamsport boundary line on Nov. 26, 3:05 a.m.

Thomas Eugene Fox, 44, of Williamsport, who was operating a vehicle erratically in the 300 block of Broad St., Montoursville on Dec. 5, 2011, around 8:14 p.m.

Reginald Walter Brooks, 48, of Williamsport, who was stopped for a traffic violation in the 2400 block of Lycoming Creek Road, Loyalsock Township, Dec. 6, 2011, 11:18 p.m.

Robert Lawrence Keagle, 42, of 2381 Route 405 Lot 41, Muncy, for multiple traffic violations on Dec. 10, 4:47 p.m. on Interstate 180 just east of exit 15 in Muncy Township.

Joseph L. Artley, 28, of Muncy, who sustained moderate injuries following a crash on Clarkstown Road, Muncy Creek Township, on Dec. 21, 1:53 a.m. Artley was traveling at a high rate of speed and lost control of the Volkswagen Jetta he was operating while attempting to negotiate a right curve in the roadway. Artley’s vehicle left the roadway and struck an embankment and two large pine trees before coming to rest on its roof. Artley was treated at Geisinger Medical Center; charges are pending against Artley for DUI and drug possession.

Shawn Warren Major, 30, of 204 W. Highland St., Jersey Shore, on Dec. 30, 1 a.m. Major was observed by a passing motorist asleep in the driver’s seat with the engine running and hazard lights activated while parked on Pine Loganton Road, approximately a quarter mile south east of the Wayne Township line in Crawford Township, Clinton County. Investigation revealed Major to be DUI and also on parole; he was lodged in the Clinton County Correctional Facility for parole violation.

David Allen Kinney, 47, of 1432 Richard Ave., Williamsport, who committed summary violations while driving on High St. just north of Beeber St. on Dec. 31, 2011, 8:29 p.m.

Patrick Mitchell Pursel, 36, of Lock Haven, who attempted to flee from police on Woodward Ave., Pine Creek Township, Clinton County on Jan. 1, 2012, shortly after midnight. After stopping his vehicle along the avenue, Pursel then attempted to flee on foot where he was apprehended by Pine Creek Township Police Officer David Winkelman, who injured his shoulder, affecting the arrest. Pursel is being charged with DUI, fleeing and eluding, resisting arrest, recklessly endangering another person and three summary traffic citations.
