Williamsport Motorist Sustains Moderate Injuries in Muncy Creek Township – A Williamsport woman was transported to the Williamsport Hospital for treatment of injuries she sustained following a two-vehicle accident on Dec. 29. Around 7:40 p.m. on East Water Street in Muncy Creek Township, Merle B. Hatcher, 47, of Williamsport was traveling west on East Water Street (Route 405), about 400 feet east of Chestnut Street. At the same time, Andrew Davis, 54, of Muncy was traveling eastbound on the same street when he traveled outside of his lane and was struck by Hatcher. Davis’s vehicle then swung around and struck Hatcher’s vehicle in the driver’s door, PSP Trooper Johnathan Buynak said. Davis was not injured.

PSP Montoursville also responded to the following emergencies:
Between Dec. 10 and Dec. 18, someone gained entry into a Pepsi machine located outside and in the front of Marsh Hill Meat Market. Trooper Brandon Schrawder said approximately $180 worth of soda and money was stolen from the machine, located at 8236 Route 14 highway in McIntyre Township. No force was used to gain entry into the soda machine; it is alleged that the culprit could possibly have a key to the machine, Schrawder said.

On Dec. 25, 11:41 p.m., state police initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the Giant parking lot, Loyalsock Township. During initial contact, Tonya Lynn King, 34, of Cogan Station, provided police with a false name and false social security number when she was asked her identity. Trooper Kozak said King was then taken into custody for a prior DUI warrant and was additionally charged for false identification to law enforcement authorities.

On Dec. 26, 11 p.m., Amy Fisher, 40, of South Williamsport and another 44 year-old female, also of South Williamsport were involved in a domestic incident while at 380 River View Drive. Fisher subsequently pushed the victim following a verbal argument, Trooper Kozak said. Summary harassment charges were filed.

On Dec. 29, 5:45 p.m., Joshua J. Hanley, 23, of Jersey Shore, and Michael A. Shaffer, 41, also of Jersey Shore, were involved in a verbal argument as they arrived for work at 2082 Nices Hollow Road in Piatt Township. During the same verbal argument, Shaffer punched Hanley in the mouth area and chest, Trooper Gary Beadle said. A non-traffic citation was filed against Shaffer.

On Dec. 31, 11:33 p.m., John Oswalt, 20, of Hattiesburg, MS, was being disruptive in the Best Western, 1840 E. Third St., Loyalsock Township. Charges of public drunkenness, disorderly conduct and underage drinking were filed at District Magistrate Sortman’s office, Trooper Joel Miles said.
