Route 414 Slide Repair Project Detours Lifted

Montoursville - The Cedar Run Narrows section of Route 414 in Brown Township, Lycoming County is reopened to traffic Wednesday afternoon.

The separate car and truck detours in place since mid-July have been lifted.

The detours were used while prime contractor, HRI, Inc. constructed a 250-foot-long concrete retaining wall along Route 414 to replace a section of embankment that was failing in the Cedar Run Narrows, along with drainage improvements and new guiderail.

The Pine Creek Trail section which had been used for car detours will be closed for a few days starting either late this week or early next while the contractor makes repairs to the trail.

Finishing work along Route 414 will be scheduled next spring.
