Linden Driver Sustains Major Injuries Following Crash – PSP Montoursville cited a Linden man following a crash on Sunday, Nov. 20 in Woodward Township. Trooper Daniel Kozak said Danny R. Rockwell, 55, was traveling westbound on East New Road, negotiating a left curve when he lost control and traveled across the road, struck a school bus sign and an embankment. Rockwell continued traveling westbound along the embankment then came across both lanes and struck a tree along the westbound lane. He was cited for driving too fast and not using a seat belt, Kozak said.
Trout Run Driver Suspected of DUI in Accident – PSP Montoursville suspect a driver of driving under the influence as well as a controlled substance following an accident which occurred around 8:10 p.m. on Nov. 18. Trooper Jeffrey Vilello said Brian M. Houseknecht, 43, was traveling west on Green Mountain Road, negotiating a left hand curve when lost control and traveled into the eastbound lane of the road. Houseknecht’s car rotated counter clockwise 90 degrees, traveled onto the berm, barrel rolled and landed on its wheels before coasting approximately 50 yards downhill before coming to rest. Houseknecht sustained injuries of unknown severity and was transported to the Williamsport Hospital by ambulance for treatment and evaluation, Vilello said. At the time of the crash, Houseknecht was under the influence of alcohol and a controlled substance; criminal charges will be filed at District Judge Sortman’s office upon receipt of Houseknecht’s blood alcohol content, Vilello said.
PSP Montoursville also responded to the following incidents in Lycoming County:
• Between 4 p.m. Nov. 18 and 7:30 a.m. Nov. 19, someone spray painted graffiti on the outside of a portable toilet and dump truck at a construction site located at the end of Grey Fox Drive, Fairfield Township.
• Over a one-week period, Trooper Daniel Kozak said Barbara Diane Nields was in the process of selling a coat over the Internet. During the process, Nields, 67, of Eadercrest Road, Williamsport, a potential customer had Nields agree to pay $1,500 in shipping fees before they would purchase the coat. After Nields paid the fees, she never heard from the buyer again, Kozak said.
• Between the hours of midnight, Nov. 23, and 10 a.m. Nov. 24, someone obtained the bank card information of a Williamsport couple and made fraudulent charges at various locations. Trooper Erik Barlett said Wayne Benson, 59, and his wife, Karen Benson, reported the identity theft. Anyone with information is asked to call 570.368.5700.
• On Saturday, Nov. 19, between noon and 4 p.m., someone entered the vehicle of Ann Louise Worrall, 1447 Clarkstown Road, and removed her purse and its contents. Trooper Gary Beadle said Worrall’s 2002 Ford Explorer was parked at Trout Pond Park, Muncy Creek Township, at the time of the theft.
• On Monday, Nov. 21, someone put nails in the driveway belong to Brenda Ann Murray, 48, of Unityville. Trooper John Maggs said Murray’s address is 527 Hall Road, Jordan Township.
• During a six-day period, Nov. 15-21, someone damaged vehicles in Timberend Estates, Fairfield Township. Trooper John Maggs said Franklyn Allen Price, 40, and Robert Franklin Wertz, 41, reported their vehicles were damaged with a sharp object.
• During a 24-hour span of time, Sunday, Nov. 20, an unknown individual(s) entered the garage of Robert Ulrich, 2611 Blair St., Williamsport. Trooper Daniel Young said some items were removed from Ulrich’s Loyalsock Township garage.
